MIUI 12.5

MIUI 12.5 by Xiaomi was announced

Today, Xiaomi officially announced a new version of MIUI software, called MIUI 12.5. Throughout Xiaomi’s existence, the company has never separately announced major intermediate versions of MIUI XX.5. The developers promise that MIUI 12.5 will be a significant update, which will significantly improve MIUI 12 before the release of MIUI 13.

It is expected that MIUI 12.5 will receive new features, which the developers have not yet announced. It will be recalled that MIUI 12 offers a significantly redesigned interface, takes animation to a new level, improves the dark theme, increases security, offers redesigned proprietary programs, and much more, including super files.

Probably, in the process of finalizing MIUI 12, it was decided to release a large intermediate version with new features.

MIUI 12.5 Upcoming features

Approximate Location

MIUI 12.5 will better protect the privacy of your site. By adding the new feature, you can force the Google Play Services app to use the crawl of your location, rather than your exact location. This way, the application cannot keep up with your site changes.

Volume Controller

Adjusting the volume has not changed operating modes for a long time. It will now look much sleeker with MIUI 12.5. No new function has been added, but it has a new Animation and Appearance and is easier to use.

Launcher Animations

Animations have also been improved when exporting or importing applications from folders to the Launcher Desktop.

New Power menu appearance

There are no new features or capabilities, but the design and usability have been improved.

Convert photos to PDF

You can now quickly convert any photo in your gallery to a PDF file.

New Appearance of recent apps

The management of the Recents apps that changed with MIUI 10, will now be more customizable with MIUI 12.5! With the new update, you will be able to return to the style that used to exist in MIUI 9 if this suits you better. This new feature will allow you to fully intervene in the way MIUI displays open applications.

New Camera GUI

Managing the camera application with the new features added every now and then has become quite complicated. Now with MIUI 12.5, this complexity has been replaced by a simpler interface, which will feature icons so you don’t get lost in endless rows of submenu settings that you don’t understand exactly what they do.

New Notification Window Appearance

With MIUI 12.5, the notification window will be mostly like the design of Android 11, notifications and messages now appear more beautiful and are more detailed in their description.

  • New Fingerprint Animations
  • Bubble notification support (Android 11)
  • Super-resolution
  • Better voice control
  • New QR code interface
  • New style icons

Jin Fan, general manager of Xiaomi Internet One, added that MIUI 12.5 will be further upgraded and optimized in terms of design, animation, security, privacy and so on.
