Back in December of last year, T-Mobile announced that it was going through the process of acquiring Layer3 TV in an effort to launch its own TV streaming service.
Of course, acquisition of that sort has to be approved by the necessary regulating bodies, and it looks like T-Mobile has achieved that goal. As a result of the confirmation of acquisition, nearly 200 employees at Layer3 TV will be joining the T-Mobile team. Layer3 TV’s CEO, Jeff Binder, will also be enlisting with T-Mobile as the company’s newest Executive Vice President. Binder will be running the show for T-Mobile TV when it goes live.
