Verizon Communications Inc. more commonly known as Verizon, is an American multinational telecommunications conglomerate and a corporate component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. RCN

RCN Corporation, originally known as the Residential Communications Network, was founded in 1993 and is based in Princeton, New Jersey. It was the first American facilities-based provider of bundled telephone, cable and internet service. In 2006, RCN claimed over 424,000 domestic customers and 130 cable franchise. RCN offers services exclusively in Allentown, Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C, New York City and Philadelphia.

RCN prices are more competitive when compared to the above giants. Some of their packages include: up to 50 mbps, 77+ channels for $29.99 per month. If you need a stronger internet package, consider their double play 250 Mbps package for only $39.99 per month. RCN is great option for anyone on a smaller budget.

HughesNet Gen5

HughesNet is American’s #1 choice for satellite internet. They offer a wide range of plans with blazing fast speeds, great data packages, and built in Wi-Fi.
